When the frenulum restricts healthy movement and function it can cause a range of problems. A tongue tie release (known as a frenectomy or frenuloplasty) is an alteration to the frenulum resulting in improved mobility and function.
Myofunctional Therapy is an essential component in the journey to an optimal airway. From birth, we develop habits that eventually become engrained in our brains, and the not-so-good habits require us to retrain our brains to change our behavior.
If sleep is an issue in your life, let us help you reclaim your rest. At Untethered, your journey to improved sleep and better health begins with a consultation and a non-invasive, at-home sleep study. Then we’ll create a specialized treatment plan.
Identify warning signs and conservatively intervene with habit correction, nasal breathing and training devices. Preventative preorthodontics can correct muscular habits, improve nasal breathing, align teeth naturally and assist with proper jaw growth.
Could your life benefit from improved sleep, breathing or hearing? Our ENT services include sleep, hearing, sinus and allergy treatments such as turbinectomies, tonsil removal, adenoid removal, Vivaer for nasal valve collapse, septal deviation correction, CPAP therapy and more.
While a frenectomy allows for improved mobility, success requires a retraining of how the tongue functions. A successful outcome requires a retraining and preparation for acceptance. Doing so minimizes the chance of the scar replacing the originally tight attachment, or “reattaching.”
